It has been a long time, but i am pleased to announce that we are currently working on a new release of the toolbar uninstaller. This new release is completly build from scratch and will not use a predefined list of toolbars. There still is an update feature, but that will only contain instructions for the program on how to remove that particular toolbar. The program will also report any toolbars to us for wich we have no remove solution available, but also the ones that we have a solution for. The only data it will report to use is:
- Name of the toolbar
- Location
- Version
- Your Windows Version
The windows version is important for us, because some toolbars installed under Windows Vista require a different way to remove then the same toolbar under Windows XP.
We use this data (as said before) to create removers for toolbars, but also for statistical purposes, so we can track wich toolbars are installed the most and wich are removed the most. The Windows Version is reported, so we can build an internal database to see if we should drop support for an older Windows version.
WE WILL NEVER COLLECT ANY PERSONAL DATA.
This new version will be released before the end of the year.
We are also going to start a Newsletter on wich you can subscribe. The newsletter will warn you about malicious toolbars, Tells you any new toolbars and gives the statistics of the tracked data. We also tell you some toolbars wich are safe to use and how to get the most out of these toolbars.
Hope to see you then
